Questions people ask us
What's the difference between a chiropractor and a physiotherapist?
Roughly: chiropractic focuses on the joints and spine, often using adjustments; physiotherapy focuses on restoring how you move, with hands-on work and a rehab plan. They overlap a lot and many people do well with both — we have chiropractors, physiotherapists and RMTs in this building, so if you'd be better with a different one, we'll simply point you there rather than treating you regardless.
Should I see a chiropractor or a physiotherapist?
Honestly, it depends on what's wrong, and it's a hard call to make from the outside. As a rough guide: if it's more joint or spine-focused, chiropractic is often the better first stop; if it's a movement, muscle or post-injury problem, start with physiotherapy. If you pick "wrong", it isn't a problem — we assess you first, and because both work out of this clinic, we'll point you to the right one rather than treating you regardless.
Do adjustments hurt?
For most people, no. An adjustment is usually quick and brings relief rather than pain — you might feel a bit of pressure or hear a pop (that's just gas releasing from the joint, not bones cracking). If you're tender or nervous, tell your chiropractor: there are gentle, low-force techniques that get results without the "crack."
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. You can book chiropractic care directly with us. Some insurance plans ask for a referral before they'll reimburse you, so it's worth a quick check with your provider — but you don't need one to be seen.
Is chiropractic covered by insurance?
Most extended health plans cover chiropractic, and we direct bill your insurer, so you usually pay little or nothing upfront. If you're covered under a car accident (MVA) or WSIB claim, we submit the treatment plan and bill them directly.
How many visits will I need?
Honestly, it depends — on what's wrong, how long it's been going on, and what you want to get back to. Some people are done in a few visits, others need longer. Your chiropractor gives you a realistic plan at the end of your first assessment rather than signing you up to endless bookings.
